Removal of arm veins - a "Life changing" operation

A lady contacted The Whiteley Clinic earlier this year by e-mail, showing enlarged arm veins on both sides. She was desperate for removal of the veins as the veins stood out so much.

The photos that she e-mailed are below:

After much discussion, we agreed to perform Ultrasound guided removal of the veins, under local anaesthetic.

2 months later, the patient is delighted with the results:

She stated that the results were "life-changing" as she is now able to wear what she likes and is totally comfortable with her arms being on show.

  2. Thank you for your comment - although laser treatment for these has been described, the results that I have seen have been terrible. When I discussed with the Laser company who was promoting one surgeon offering this, they owned up to the fact that the patients were not followed up adequately.
I have seen sevceral patient with arm veins "closed" with laser - that have all of the vein back again by 6 months. The problem is that the vein is too close to the skin and so adequate laser energy is not possible without causing skin damge or inflammatory changes once any tumesence disappears.
