Who should treat varicose veins?
In the past, General Surgeons used to operate on them. Now with local anaesthetic "pin-hole" techniques, lots of doctors for other specialities are treating veins. In some countries, non-medically qualified people and purely commercial companies are jumping on the band-wagon and offering vein treatments.
This wouldn't matter if everyone was doing the same thing and getting the same results. However, just like any practical skill, there are certain people who spend more time practising or researching a subject and who are likely to get better results than the "occasional dabbler".
